"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Psalm 147:3

Dear Mom,

Today I moved into my new home for the next year. It’s great! You would be proud. Don’t worry, I’ll keep my half of the room clean. I look forward to knowing my roommate better as the year progresses. We never got a chance to in high school, but now that we’re only five feet apart every night, we might get to know each other more than we wanted to!
Our colors coordinate well but reflect our differences in style and taste. Everything is nicely organized too, with every nook and cranny filled with something useful or to remind us of home.
It was fun moving in and setting my stuff up just the way I wanted it, finding a place for everything just so. My bed is so comfortable as I lay here writing. An odd thing to read I’m sure, considering it’s a college bed, but true nevertheless. I am very thankful to be here and for everything God has given me.
Now I have to make sure my schedule is corrected and I have the necessary supplies for class (including textbooks).
I honestly don’t have the desire yet to call home. Probably because I just got here. Moving in really helped with ridding some of the stress from my system and now I’m realizing, this is just the first of many, many more nights to be spent away from the house that used to be “home”. Really, the nights to be spent in my old bed in Frisco, Texas are quite limited compared to the rest.
It’s exciting, the thought that I could do what ever I want and I could choose whether to stay up late or go to bed early or stay in all day or go out, etc. The choices of adulthood, some can be very good or some could be quite disastrous. Thank goodness the only choice I have to make is to put my life in God’s hands. When I choose to do so, I trust that He will help me make the correct decision.
The next year has some great things in store–I can feel it!

Your daughter,
Hannah
